In this episode of the North West Aerospace Alliance News, Emma and Daniel delve into the exciting new Young Apprenticeship Grant available for small and medium-sized enterprises in Lancashire. This grant offers a total of £3,000—split into two payments of £1,500 each—to support apprenticeships in the manufacturing and aerospace sectors. Employers must be SMEs with a turnover under £50 million and fewer than 250 employees. Apprentices must be under 25, and the apprenticeship must start between July 1, 2022, and July 31, 2023. The grant can be used for both new hires and existing staff members looking to upskill. Employers can apply for up to three grants, provided the apprentices start within the same three-month period. If an apprentice leaves before the second payment is issued, that payment will not be given. The application process is predominantly procurement-based, and support is available. For more information, contact Paul Hannant at Lancashire Skills Hub. Tune in to learn how this grant can help your business grow and develop its workforce.
