Known as the 'Olympics of engineering,' the competition will see Kieran competing against top welders from up to 85 countries in the Construction Metalwork category. After being noticed for his metalwork and attention to detail at WEC Group Ltd. in Darwen, Kieran is now one of 39 Team UK competitors. Burnley College, which has named 2022 the Year of the Themis Apprentice, is proud to support him. Assistant Principal Neil Burrows is confident in Kieran's abilities and the strength of the college's industry ties. The competition, originally scheduled for last year but delayed due to the pandemic, is set for October in Shanghai.
